In an unusual twist of events, I am trying very hard to be festive. Famously Grinch-like in every aspect of my life, I am not usually the Christmas kind. It’s a subject I’ve written about ad nauseam and won’t be going into again here (if you’re interested read this) but what I will say is that so far, this has been a pretty good holiday season.
There have been parties. Dinners catching up with old friends. I even co-hosted a Christmas dinner for 10 people — and the napkins had been folded into Christmas trees! Sleep has been hard to grasp, particularly after the drunken evenings. But I suppose that’s something to look forward to come 24th December, once people retreat to their families and loved ones for a few days of rest or intense celebration, depending on your festive vibe.
I’ve also been enjoying some peaceful evenings at home, reading, writing, cooking, and listening to podcasts. I haven’t done a full Weekend Wrap in a while so without further ado, here is everything I’ve been enjoying over the last few weeks in those peaceful moments. There are articles, films, and podcast episodes. Enjoy — and I’ll see you next week.
